What am I actually buying?: A name registered to you for the number of years you choose. It works as your payment address, a web address, and a login across thousands of apps. Renew it to keep it — like a domain.
Do I need to understand crypto?: No. You need a wallet, which is just the place the name lives. Signing in with Google or an email address creates one for you in about a minute, and we explain each screen before you click it.
What does it cost?: The yearly fee is set by the ENS network and depends on length — short names cost more. You'll see the exact total before you approve anything, and we charge nothing on top to register.
Who holds the name?: You do. It's registered directly to your wallet, and we can't move it, sell it or take it back. That's also why nobody can restore it for you if you lose access to the wallet.
